Intro and Looking back: Today we did an experiment that included putting food coloring in water with a flower in it. We did this to see if the flower would change color. Our flowers did end up changing color. Below are some picture of the experiment.

Big questions: Why do flowers change color when put in colored dye?

Research: Changing the color of flowers is very easy and simple. Flowers and plants normally drink water through their roots in the ground, but the stem will continue to drink water even when the roots are gone and provide it for the flowers and leaves. The reason that this happens is because of transpiration, transpiration is when water evaporating from the petals and leaves evaporates, which in turn pulls water from the roots, this process works similar to that of a straw. Dyeing the water just makes the movements of water throughout the plant visible, while at the same enhancing the flowers look.

Clean up: We can just throw away the materials when we are done

Steps:
- cut the stems and prepare plants
- dye water
- put the plants inside
- wait
Materials:
- Flowers
- Water food coloring
- tube or flask
- knife
Hazards:
- knife, cutting stems
- thorns, roses have sharp thorns
Precautions:
- Gloves to prevents easy pricks or cuts

Looking inward:
I would say we got desirable results the plant changed colors.
Looking outward:
I worked with Meech and Marco and we worked really good together . We have worked together before and we worked well before and now.
Looking forward:
If i was going to do this again I would try different colors like maybe tie die. Other wise I don't think I would do this again.
Take away:
My take away from this project is learning how to color flowers. I never knew you could actually do this and I really didn't think it was going to waork
